They’ll help you think outside the box, draw conclusions you wouldn’t normally observe, and make the entire process faster and more efficient. Not only enjoyable but graphic organizers (or diagrams) can make the writing process a snap. But if you use graphic organizer for writing essays then you can make writing enjoyable – or at least less terrible. You can generate ideas very quickly with this technique and are encouraged to explore different creative pathways.Ask any student – essay writing is one of the most despised tasks of their educational career. Perhaps there is so much displeasure associated with the task because it’s perceived as too linear – there isn’t enough visual and creative appeal.It's also a very intuitive way to organize your thoughts, since mind maps mimic the way our brains think-bouncing ideas off of each other, rather than thinking linearly.A mind map can at once give you an overview of a large subject while also holding large amounts of information.This helps generate more ideas, find deeper meaning in your subject, and also prompt you to fill in more or find what you're missing. Mind maps link and group concepts together through natural associations.The combination of words and pictures is six times better for remembering information than words alone. The visuals normally focus on small bits of the most important information, which helps the mind store the information in short- and long-term memory. Graphic organizers support comprehension by working as a visual aid organize ideas, see relationships and help students remember information. Research findings indicate that graphic organizers can be effective tools to support comprehension for all students, including those who are at risk for academic failure (Kim, Vaughn, Wanzek, & Wei, 2004 Pickering, & Pollock, 2001). Visual representations can be used in all disciplines and are quite flexible in their application (Kroll 2003-15). Graphic Organizers help students organize ideas, see relationships, and retain information.
